Project Story
The Water Project is dedicated to bringing clean, safe drinking water to those that do not have this basic need. Globally, 1 in 9 people still have no access to clean water. But in the communities they serve, it’s 9 out of 9. Water is a daily and crippling challenge. Children often bear the burden of walking miles each day to find water in streams and ponds, full of water-borne disease that is making them and their families sick. The Water Project have several well projects in the works and need your support. Books for Africa's goal is to supply books to help children receive access to an education and to opportunities. Educational access helps end the cycle of poverty and create a better quality of life than previous generations. Because of economic crises, poverty, war, malnutrition and lack of educational resources 40% of school age children in Africa do not attend school and 46 million have never set foot in a classroom.
