Go Empathy is a full-circle crowdsourcing website that gives an opportunity to show empathy, compassion and a sense of community through giving.
- To get started: Go to “Start Your Fundraiser.”
- Fill out a simple application and upload an original picture and video of your need.
- Sponsors can reach out for donation through our website, social media or other means (i.e. flyers, text messages, emails).
- Donors get the opportunity to interact with the cause and be part of a community of givers.
- Upon completion of the campaign recipients/sponsors of the funds raised are asked to submit a “thank you” video showing how the donated funds will be used and be given the opportunity to say, “thank you.” This allows for those that donated to see the effects of their generosity, to be a part of the joy in giving and their giving come full circle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can a group sponsor a person or cause instead of one person?
A: Yes, Go Empathy is not only for educators and students but for PTO’s, Quilt Circles, Motorcycle Clubs or a group of NICU Nurses, however, there does need to be one main contact that will be responsible to open the page, available for contact and who will upload the thank you video.
Q: What’s the smallest amount I can donate?
A: We don’t want to turn away any amount, however, $5.00 is smallest amount for the simple reason that after Visa charges 2.99% and .30 and our 5% service fee it is too small amount to process.
Q: Does Go Empathy take a 5% processing fee in the Global Community Rooms?
A: No, we do not. Our many amazing organizations will receive your full donation less the 2.99% + .30 processing fee charged by VISA. Currently, we are unable to program these rooms separately from Community Rooms – that is a future site development goal. In the meantime, the 5% that is deducted at the time of checkout will be paid out to the organization in the Global Connection or if you do not want to be part of the Community Room you can donate directly through the link provided. If you choose to be part of the Community Room be sure to include that 5% when filing deductions for non-profit donation on your tax return.
Q: Will I get a receipt for taxes?
A: No. Go Empathy is not a non-profit 503(c) and is not tax deductible. However, if you donate to the organizations noted on the World Map you can deduct the amount donated after processing fees…just print your receipt.
Q: How long will it take for the person or organization to receive my funds?
A: Once a fundraiser ends a ‘Thank you’ video should be posted within 3 days. The fundraiser will be open for another 7 business days. We have found a 20% increase in giving once the Thank You video is posted. Go Empathy will send a check within 30 days of final closure. See Terms and Conditions.
Q: Will I be notified when my recipient posts their Thank You video?
A: At this time that feature is not available but please keep checking in after the fundraiser ends to see the joy!
Q: What do you charge?
A: A fee of 2.99% and .30 a transaction is charged by the bank for processing your credit card
