Project Story
Books for Africa’s goal is to supply books to help children receive access to an education and to opportunities. Educational access helps end the cycle of poverty and create a better quality of life than previous generations. Because of economic crises, poverty, war, malnutrition and lack of educational resources 40% of school age children in Africa do not attend school and 46 million have never set foot in a classroom. In many classrooms, 10 to 20 students will share one textbook.
Books For Africa supplies sea containers of books to rural school libraries, orphanages, adult literacy programs, and community resource centers. Books For Africa strives to help create a culture of literacy and provide the tools of empowerment to the next generation of parents, teachers, and leaders in Africa.
